One Year Later

It is now Feb. 2009, over one year after this blog was started to get parents involved in the school. So how are the results? Unfortunately, much has changed but ultimately parents have even LESS involvement than before. The Board functions only in name and the sub-committees developed by the chairman of the board are disfunctional. The one Board member who was actually elected by the parents was effectively kicked off the board because she attempted to communicate directly with the parents. Ultimately parents have no say in their child's education. Many of the parents who were initially interested in helping to improve the school and get involved have ultimately taken their children elsewhere. Pitisuksa has the potential to be a great school but the management lacks the imagination and desire to move it forward.
